MORE THAN 100 YEARS OF CASTING EXPERTISE

Iron cast components from 15 to 400 kg for small and large series production

TECHNICAL OVERVIEW

Our plant and process technology is designed to produce cast components in a series-ready, reproducible and cost-efficient manner. Three factors are decisive: metallurgical stability in the melt, consistent mould and core quality, and standardised, automated finishing. By covering the core processes in-house, we are able to control quality in a targeted way – from alloy composition and moulding through to ready-to-install delivery.

Melting operation

  • 1 x Hot blast cupola furnace 32t/h melting capacity
  • 2 x 105 t-Induction holding furnaces
  • 10 x 5 t-converter
  • 1 x 25 t-Induction pouring furnace AF3

Automatic moulding line

A moulding line produces the sand moulds into which the molten metal is poured. It forms the cope and drag, compacts the sand, integrates the cores and closes the mould in a process-reliable manner for casting.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

  • 1x Horizontal, Heinrich-Wagner-Sinto (HWS)
  • Flask sizes:: 1420 x 915 x 360/360 mm
  • Hydraulic multi-ram
  • Components up to 400 kg

Core shop

A moulding line produces the sand moulds into which the molten metal is poured. It forms the cope and drag, compacts the sand, integrates the cores and closes the mould in a process-reliable manner for casting.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

  • 8 x Laempe core shooting machines
  • 2 x AHB core shooting machines
  • Automatic sand conditioning
  • Process: Cold-Box, shooting capacity 10 – 50 l

Fettling

Final finishing in the foundry is the last step after casting – preparing the component for subsequent machining. Using automated grinding cells and robotics, we remove gates, risers and burrs, achieving reproducible contours and defined surfaces. For complex areas or special cases, manual workstations complement the process. This ensures a consistent starting quality – final machining and component completion then take place at our machining sites.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

  • 6 x CNC robots for grinding and milling
  • 7 x Koyama-grinding cells
  • 1 x stamping and broaching tool robot
  • Manual work stations

Pattern shop

In our pattern shop, we produce patterns and pattern equipment that define the component geometry during the moulding process. Their design has a significant influence on dimensional accuracy, parting line quality, pattern release and the implementation of gating and feeding concepts. Using CNC-based machining, we manufacture precise patterns and implement modifications at short notice – supporting an efficient production ramp-up and stable series production.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

  • 1 x CNC milling machine
